Water Treatment

Does your water have a rotten egg smell? This is caused by Hydrogen Sulfide or Sulfur Bacteria in the Earth’s formation.

Do you get red/orange "rust" color staining in your showers and toilets?  This could be a sign of iron in your well water.

Do you have blue/ green staining in your showers or sinks? This could be a sign of acidic water corroding copper pipe/ fittings.

We offer water testing for:

  • Iron
  • pH (acidity)
  • TDS (total dissolved solids)
  • Tannins (organic compounds)
  • Hardness
  • Lead
  • Nitrates
  • Coliform Bacteria (E-coli)
  • Sulfur (Rotten Egg Smell)

We can test iron, pH, TDS, Hardness, and Tannins in office for free if you bring in a sample to our office directly from your well. If your well is supplying your house and has any kind of water treatment or filtration on it, bring in a sample from at the well and from in the house. Further testing such as Coliform, lead, and Nitrate requires water to be collected and sent to a lab which would require a service call.

We offer water treatment options for all the above after proper testing. We do not offer treatment systems for irrigation wells.

Our Solution

After having your water tested, if there is something that is out of normal range, such as high iron or hardness, we would document all tested outcomes and send off a water analysis to our water treatment experts that will tell us exactly what is needed to correct the issue in your water.

Once we know what will be needed we will email you an estimate for your treatment system. After the estimate is approved, we will order what is needed and then contact you to schedule installation once the unit(s) is delivered to us.

*We currently install neutralizers on any new well install that we know will be supplying to a home. The main water quality issue we see consistently in our area is low pH which is acidic water that will over time corrode metal or copper fittings or parts made into  appliances in homes (like hot water heaters with copper lines).

FAQ

Q: What should I bring my water sample to the office in?

A: A clean container that has been rinsed with the water that is going in it and something you don't mind not getting back. (Many people use water bottles or mason jars).

Q: How often does my neutralizer need to be refilled?

A: Most families have to refill the neutralizer once a year, but it depends on the amount of water that goes through it to use up the media.

Q: What goes into the neutralizer?

A: It is NOT salt or pool chemicals! The neutralizers should be filled about 2/3 full with calcite. Calcite is naturally occurring, crushed limestone that looks very similar to sand or salt.

Q: I live in an area that has PFAS concerns, do I need to get my well water tested?

A: Yes! You can never be too safe. We do not test for PFAS at this time, but you can call us for a contact to a licensed PFAS testing agent. PFAS is of high concern in areas surrounding Pensacola Airport, Whiting Field in Milton, Spencer field in Pace, and a few other areas within our service area. You can contact us prior to purchasing a property to see if it is in a state- regulated PFAS contamination area that will have additional restrictions on drilling a well on the property.
