How It Works
- Contact our office with your location and email for a FREE water well drilling estimate to be sent to you.
2. Sign the quote and send it back to our office.
3. Our Staff will give you a call to set up time to look at the property and find a location for the well that meets the setback compliance mandated by the Northwest Florida Water Management District.
4. Permits will be obtained for the well and tentative date set to drill your new well.
5. Our drill crew will typically drill the well in one day (depending on the depth).
6. Your pump and any other equipment will be installed by our service crew typically within a week after the well is drilled.
7. Your final invoice will be emailed after everything is completed.
8. It is the client's responsibility to have power and any plumbing or irrigation ran/ hooked up to the well and have the system protected from elements to maintain manufacturers warranties (see our well owner's guide under service & maintenance). It is also the client's responsibility to inquire about desired water testing after well is hooked to power.
**Pro tip: have your electrician wire up a 1-10 outlet at your well when they are running power to it for future use such as a heat lamp, or in case you have to have an electronic treatment system installed at any point.
Some people also get a generator plug wired up at the well in case of long-term power outages. We do not recommend running a well off of a generator, but if you have the proper power supply from the generator you can do it for short periods of time.
Geothermal WELL DRILLING for Closed loop systems
Geothermal Loops are coils of normally ¾” or 1” Piping inserted into the ground to depths of 250’ – 300’ to use ground water source for cooling and heating purposes.
In summer, the water is used to cool the house as water from the ground is normally around 68 to 72 degrees.
In winter it is reversed, and ground temp is used to help heat the home to a comfortable level.
We provide the drilling service only. Please contact your local A/C Contractor for a quote and request to use Clyde’s for your drilling needs.
Well Drilling Consultation
To be most efficient with our time, we do not go to site to consult until after estimate is signed that client wants to move forward.
FAQ
Q: How deep will my well be?
A: We will not be able to determine the depth of the well until it is complete. We typically quote well packages based off of our county average of 160' for 4" wells, but there are some areas that may be more or less.
Q: What if my well goes dry?
A: It is very rare for a 4" well to go dry because they go into the aquifer. If you have a 2" well that suctions permeated water from the surface, you may increase the risk of it going dry (especially if there were to be a drought).
Q: How do I know I will have good water quality?
A: Unfortunately, nobody can guarantee water quality because every well is different, and some things such as iron or tannins have been seen to come and go over time. This is why all of our well drilling estimates state that we guarantee water quantity, not quality. Please learn more over on our water treatment page!
Q: How do I know there is water on my property?
A: There is typically no worry about finding water on your property in this area. It is extremely rare to not hit water on the first hole. Some areas may require us to drill deeper than others, but generally in Santa Rosa and Escambia counties in Florida, we are able to develop a sand well (meaning the screen at the bottom is set in sand that the water flows through to come into the well). Parts of our area in North Okaloosa county (near Crestview and Laurel Hill) often require us to drill much deeper into rock which can be a little different, but our drill crew is well versed and experienced in both.
Q: My property is in a PFAS contamination area. What does this mean when it comes to drilling a new well?
A: The state may require us to fully grout your well (pump cement around the entire casing of the well). Doing this causes us to have to use steel casing which is much more expensive than standard PVC well casing. The grout is meant to act as a sealant to help protect from contaminants.
